Dehesa Dermatology is seeking a friendly, organized, and motivated Part-Time New Patient Scheduler to join our growing dermatology practice!

We are looking for someone who is passionate about patient care, has excellent communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced medical office environment.

As a New Patient Scheduler, you will be one of the first points of contact for our patients, helping create a welcoming and professional experience from their very first phone call.

• Answer incoming calls and assist new patients with scheduling appointments.
• Register new patients and accurately enter demographic and insurance information into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Review incoming referrals and ensure all required documentation is received before scheduling.
• Verify insurance eligibility and identify authorization requirements.
• Coordinate with the referral and authorization departments to ensure patients are scheduled appropriately.
• Explain appointment preparation instructions, office policies, and scheduling expectations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and scheduling documentation.
• Communicate professionally with referring providers, patients, and internal staff.
• Assist with managing incoming referrals and scheduling queues to ensure timely patient access.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.

• Previous medical office or patient scheduling experience preferred.
• Dermatology experience is a plus!
• Familiarity with medical insurance, HMO/PPO plans, referrals, and prior authorizations preferred.
• Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Strong multitasking, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Excellent telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
