POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Join our dedicated team at the YMCA as a Child Watch Attendant and play a vital role in providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children while their parents or guardians enjoy their workout. We are seeking dependable and enthusiastic individuals who are committed to creating a positive experience for children and families.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise and monitor children in the drop-in Child Watch facility to ensure their safety and well-being
• Engage children in age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts to promote fun and development
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for children and parents
• Enforce facility rules and safety policies consistently
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's needs or concerns
• Respond promptly and appropriately to any emergencies or behavioral issues

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience working with children in a childcare, babysitting, or similar setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain attentive, patient, and calm in a dynamic environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred; training can be provided if necessary
• Reliable, responsible, and punctual
