Medical Assistant

The patient care assistant conveys a positive image and provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from clinic services. Ensures timely flow of patients, maintains unit patient care supplies, documents and assists physicians and nurses to provide optimal care to patients and families. Responsible for appointment scheduling and chart management. A high school degree or its equivalent is required, as is the successful completion of an institutional PCA training program or its equivalent. Completion of Medical Terminology within one year of employment is required. Experience or interest in health care is required. Previous public contact, preferably service-related, is desirable. Previous experience with computer systems and office equipment is helpful.
