Hospital Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN)- Behavioral Health- $65-$68/HR

connectRN is seeking a passionate and dedicated Per Diem Behavioral Health Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team in Tucson, AZ. As a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse, you'll deliver specialized care to patients with mental health disorders by assessing needs, creating care plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. You'll monitor progress, manage medications, provide therapeutic support, and educate patients and families. Additionally, you'll contribute to discharge planning for a smooth transition. Strong clinical skills, empathy, and professionalism are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients' mental health needs and monitor their progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.

• Create and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

• Manage and administer psychiatric medications, ensuring proper dosage and monitoring for side effects.

• Offer support through therapeutic communication, interventions, and counseling to address emotional and behavioral issues.

• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and coping strategies, and participate in discharge planning to facilitate a smooth transition to home or other care settings.

• Participate in discharge planning.

Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona or compact licensure.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Registered Nurse, with the last 12 months working in the Behavioral Health setting.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative healthcare environment.
