About This Role:

The IT Support Specialist Intern will be assisting our IT Support Specialists while they support Accra’s internal roles on a regular basis. The main focus for the IT Support Specialist Intern will be to exercise their problem-solving abilities to resolve technical issues, gain hands on experience for troubleshooting common technical problems, and providing timely solutions to those they assist. The Intern will:

  • Assisting in setting up profiles, email accounts, and other tasks related to onboarding new employees.
  • Performing regular maintenance on existing hardware and computer systems operating efficiently.
  • Assist internal employees by answering help requests.
  • Consistently utilizing the ticketing system to monitor, manage, and track all incident requests regardless of origin.
  • Assist the IT Service Desk team on additional projects and tasks as needed.
Requirements:
  • Working towards a B.A., B.S., or a A.A. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • Ability to manage numerous tasks simultaneously with regular interruptions while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • Have effective communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to communicate challenging concepts both in-person, over the phone, and in electronic communication.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain a high standard of professional courtesy, flexibility, confidentiality, and discretion while working collaboratively, independently and as a team member.
