About the Role:

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join our team in the Transportation and Warehousing industry. As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of our company, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. You will work closely with the Manager to oversee the team and ensure that all goals are met. Your main objective will be to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction while optimizing the company's resources and profitability.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a management role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Transportation and Warehousing industry
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management
  • Experience with budgeting and financial analysis
  • Experience with project management software
  • Ability to speak multiple languages
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping.
  • Supervise warehouse associates, forklift operators, and shipping/receiving personnel to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
  • Help coordinate inbound and outbound freight activities with transportation and logistics teams.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and warehouse management system (WMS) processes.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, food-grade handling standards, and warehouse best practices.
  • Support scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management of warehouse staff.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, organized, and safe warehouse environments.
  • Work closely with customers, carriers, and internal departments to resolve operational issues and maintain high service levels.
  • Participate in cross-docking, transloading, and distribution operations as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

As an Assistant Manager, you will utilize your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide leadership and support to the team. Your strong organizational and problem-solving skills will be essential in ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
