About This Position
We are seeking a temporary operations resource to support our retail operations at Princeton University Stores during a critical period leading up to reunions and commencement. This person will focus on ensuring smooth store operations, managing pop-up retail logistics, and bridging the operational gap until our permanent hire arrives.
Retail Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day store operations across multiple retail environments (on-campus store and Nassau Street store).
• Coordinate all logistical aspects of pop-up retail for reunions, ensuring timely product movement and setup.
• Support stockroom organization, receiving, and inventory readiness.
• Collaborate with student workers, ensuring their onboarding and scheduling are seamless.
• Act as a resource for the team regarding operational processes (e.g., NetSuite POS questions).
Competencies:
• Calm, adaptable demeanor: Able to manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively across diverse stakeholders (internal teams, university contacts, alumni advisors).
• Timing and execution focus: Precision in meeting deadlines and ensuring operational excellence in a high-volume period.
• Retail experience with temp/student staff: Experience leading temporary teams and understanding the nuances of student workers.
• NetSuite POS familiarity: Comfortable with systems used for store operations.
• Adaptability across environments: Comfortable shifting between different retail settings (campus store, street store, pop-ups).
Details:
• Duration: Through the end of the fiscal year (including May).
• Hours: Full-time with flexibility for weekends.
We are not looking for a long-term candidate; this is a focused interim role. The ideal person will ensure continuity and success without disruption to our established team.
