Job Summary
We are seeking an Equipment Trainer & Evaluator to join our training and service delivery team in the Kitchener / Cambridge area.
In this role, you will facilitate and evaluate mobile equipment training programs for operators across a variety of industries and workplace environments. This includes equipment such as forklifts, aerial work platforms, and overhead cranes. You will play an important role in ensuring learners receive engaging, practical, and high-quality training that reinforces safe work practices and legislative compliance.
As a representative of OSG, you will help create meaningful learning experiences by leveraging your operational experience, strong communication skills, and ability to connect with learners in both classroom and practical environments.
This is primarily an in-person role, with training taking place at client sites and third-party locations throughout Southwestern Ontario. Travel is required based on client needs.
The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and Saturday work as required.
This role is based in the Kitchener/Cambridge region. The hourly compensation range for this role is $23-$29/hour.
Job Responsibilities
Training Delivery & Evaluation- Facilitate in-person and virtual equipment training programs using adult learning principles and industry best practices
- Deliver practical evaluations on various types of mobile equipment, including forklifts, aerial work platforms, and overhead cranes
- Reinforce safe work practices, legislative requirements, and company standards throughout training sessions
- Provide fair, consistent, and objective operator evaluations and competency assessments
- Create engaging learning environments that encourage participation and knowledge retention
- Adapt training delivery based on learner needs, experience levels, and workplace environments
- Represent OSG professionally while building strong relationships with clients and learners
- Respond to participant questions using practical industry knowledge and experience
- Support a positive client experience through strong communication, professionalism, and reliability
- Provide feedback to internal teams to support continuous improvement of training programs and client delivery
- Complete administrative requirements accurately and on time, including timesheets, expense reporting, and training documentation
- Maintain training records and evaluation documentation in accordance with legislative and company requirements
- Support scheduling and operational coordination as needed
Education and Experience
- Certification and operational experience in one or more of the following required: Forklift, Aerial Work Platform, Overhead Crane
- 1+ years of experience in health and safety, training, equipment operations, or a related field preferred
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline considered an asset
- Experience facilitating training or working directly with equipment operators considered an asset
- Experience working in industrial, warehousing, manufacturing, or construction environments preferred
Skills, Knowledge and Attributes
- Strong knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable CSA standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset
- Comfortable facilitating training to groups with varying levels of experience and backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Professional, adaptable, and confident in client-facing environments
- Comfortable using technology including Google Workspace and other digital systems
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and unrestricted access to a reliable vehicle
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout Southwestern Ontario as required
- Clear criminal background check required
