About the Position
This is a West Coast position. The ideal candidate will be located in Los Angeles and will be able to work in the office. However, we will also consider candidates outside of Los Angeles but located on the West Coast or able to work West Coast hours. We are seeking a patent filing specialist or patent assistant who has at least two years of experience handling a broad range of patent prosecution responsibilities. Qualifications· 2+ years relevant U.S. patent prosecution experience; foreign experience is a plus· Experience and familiarity with USPTO patent systems and online IP databases (e.g., Patent Center, Assignment Center, PAIR, EFS-Web, ePCT, Patentscope, Espacenet)· Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat· Strong attention to detail· Ability to work independently and under pressure, and stay self-motivated· Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities effectively· Available to work overtime as required· Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate is a strong plus Key Responsibilities· Prepare, file, and report provisional, non-provisional, divisional/continuation and national stage applications.· Prepare, file, and report USPTO documents, including office action responses, amendments, formalities, inventorship corrections, petitions, issue fees, and Information Disclosure Statements (IDS).· Manage patent prosecution matters from filing through issuance.· Maintain secondary docket, track deadlines, and work closely with patent practitioners to meet deadlines.· Understand and consistently adhere to client-specific guidelines.· Sustain working knowledge of patent rules and procedures.· Assist in other duties/special projects as assigned. The pay range for this role is:
50,000 - 100,000 USD per year(Remote)
