About This Position

Department: Information Technology
Reports To: IT Director

SUMMARY
Under the direction of the IT Director, the IT intern is responsible for service desk-related functions including, but not limited to asset management, desktop configuration and deployment, hardware installation, and assisting users with applications and systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Configure and install desktops using a Windows Deployment Server and pre-created images.
  • Troubleshoot desktop set up errors.
  • Work with end users to ensure desktops are configured appropriately at time of deployment.
  • Install new or replace existing hardware on end user workstations.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot reported incidents and requests involving PC systems.
  • Escalate tickets to IT Support Specialist, PC Support Technicians, and IT Director as needed.
  • Provide end user training and support.
  • Other duties as assigned.

HOURS/DURATION
24 hours per two weeks, with flexibility from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Thursday. Maximum length of internship is one year.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma. One year of technical college course work in computer networking or computer science and 0-1 year work experience with various kinds of PC related devices

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment will be stressful at times.
