About This Position

The Assistant Professor of Drawing will teach drawing classes of all levels, including advanced figure and select illustration and design courses. Candidates should be familiar with both traditional and digital media and with using and teaching industry-standard software, including Adobe Creative Cloud apps and Macintosh platforms. Duties include some advising, serving on student thesis committees, collaborating with faculty to provide leadership in curricula, recruitment and retention activities, equipment and facilities development for undergraduate programs, the foundation success team, serving on department, college, and university committees, and other responsibilities as assigned by the department chair.

Minimum Qualifications:
    • MFA in Studio Art, Drawing, Illustration, or related field.

Required Qualifications:
    • MFA in Studio Art, Drawing, Illustration, or related field; ability to teach all levels of Drawing; use of industry standard software, including Adobe Creative Cloud apps; knowledge of Macintosh platforms.

Desired Qualifications:
    • Record of professional and creative accomplishment in drawing; ability to teach all levels of drawing, including advanced figure; ability to teach select illustration and design courses; ability to teach in both traditional and digital media; three years of teaching experience in courses listed or related courses.

Physical Requirements:
