Job Overview:
The Cardiac Technician Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the cardiac technical team while actively performing echocardiograms and other cardiac diagnostic testing as needed,
This role ensures high-quality patient care, workflow efficiency, and staff performance,
The supervisor works collaboratively with the Practice Manager, who maintains overall oversight of staff and departmental operations.
Job Qualifications:
Essential:
• Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular or diagnostic medical sonography program,
• Current RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or RCS certification required.
Preferred:
• Minimum of 3 5 years of cardiac imaging experience; prior leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of echocardiography techniques and cardiac anatomy.
• Proficiency in EMR systems.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Essential Functions:
• Perform high-quality echocardiograms in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
• Assist with additional cardiac diagnostic procedures as required.
• Ensure accurate documentation of studies in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Maintain equipment functionality and report maintenance needs promptly.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide day-to-day oversight of cardiac technicians and support staff.
• Coordinate staffing assignments to ensure adequate coverage and efficient workflow.
• Monitor productivity, quality metrics, and patient throughput.
• Assist in training, onboarding, and competency validation of new staff.
• Address workflow issues and escalate personnel concerns to the Practice Manager as appropriate.
• Collaborate with the Practice Manager to improve departmental processes and patient satisfaction.
• Assist with schedule coordination to align staffing with patient volumes.
