Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Radiologic Technologist to join our clinical team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing patients for diagnostic imaging, operating X-ray equipment to produce high-quality images, and ensuring strict adherence to radiation safety protocols. The ideal candidate is an efficient multi-tasker who can provide a calming presence for patients while maintaining a high volume of imaging orders.
Responsibilities:
- Imaging Excellence: Perform high-quality diagnostic X-ray exams as ordered by providers. Ensure images are clear, properly positioned, and sent to the PACS/Radiologist promptly.
- Patient Care: Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety, verify patient identity, and screen for pregnancy or contraindications.
- Radiation Safety: Strictly follow ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles. Utilize lead shielding and collimation to minimize exposure for patients and staff.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily QC checks on X-ray equipment and report any malfunctions. Maintain a clean and organized imaging suite.
- Documentation: Accurately enter patient data into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and maintain imaging logs.
- Clinic Support: (If applicable) Assist with rooming patients, taking vitals, or clerical duties during downtime
Minimum Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Digital Radiography (DR) or Computed Radiography (CR) systems and PACS software.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Valid State License/Certification to practice radiologic technology (where applicable).
Required Certification(s):
- Current ARRT (R) registration in good standing.
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
