Responsibilities
We are seeking an entry-level Finance Assistant to join our Financial Operations department as part of the Resource Team. The Financial Shared Services Resource Team acts as a trusted partner, providing a broad range of financial services across the organization.
In this role, you will collaborate with analyst owners to complete daily, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc tasks, supporting various financial operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities may span multiple business areas supported by the Resource Team, providing a diverse and dynamic work environment.
There are two openings available: one focused on Investment Accounting and the other on Life Tax. While each position primarily centers on its respective area, assignments may also extend across other functions supported by the Resource Team.
Our business partners represent diverse areas within Financial Operations and the broader enterprise, including:
- Tax and Compliance
- Life Policyholder Tax
- Investment Accounting
- Ledger Analysis and Closing
- Production and Statistical Reporting
- Financial Statements and Regulatory Reporting
- Planning and Analysis
- Property & Casualty (P&C) Analytics
Hours and Availability:
Standard working hours begin at either 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM and end at 3:15 PM or 4:15 PM, depending on business needs. Overtime may be required during peak periods.
Hybrid Work Location: Bloomington, IL-Corporate
- Hybrid Work arrangement: A "Hybrid" position means selected candidates will be assigned to a facility and will spend some time working both in the office and from their home. Work arrangements could change over time based on business need. In-office attendance may be required a minimum of 2-3 days per week, though can vary based on role

Qualifications
Required:
- Ability to execute time-sensitive tasks daily while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, always ensuring remarkable interactions
- Ability to quickly learn new applications and processes
- Proficient with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Accounting knowledge or experience
- Strong organizational skills

- Potential starting salary range: $42,000 - $47,000
- Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
- High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
- Potential yearly incentive pay up to 6% of base salary
