Position Summary:
The Senior Scientific Contracts Manager supports all Pharma commercial related activities including, but not limited to, deal structuring, contract or statement of work (SOW) creation, pricing, review and approval of budgets and contracts, contract management, and providing support to all sales team members for quoting and contracting purposes. This role should understand the required laboratory needs of multiple modalities to include in budgets and/or contracts.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepares, drafts, modifies and finalizes statements of work, change orders (COs) or amendments, budgets and other business-related contracts for Pharma Services clients and related contractual documents under the guidance of the Pharma Services Sales, Scientific Affairs and Operations teams
  • Reviews, interprets and confirms contract terms and conditions; works closely with Finance and Legal teams to ensure all contracts are accurate
  • Supports process improvements within the Pharma Services Commercial team to improve the timeliness and quality of contracting
  • Responsible for the handling of day-to-day queries from groups including all sales and sales development teams using quoting tools and/or CRM system
  • Works cross-functionally with other departments, including Project Management, to resolve problems and facilitate the efficient provision of contracting services by the sales teams under Pharma Services with alignment to downstream testing services and capabilities
  • Resolves problems through research, consulting with internal support teams to identify the appropriate tools for success
  • Ensures all contracts are structured and processed efficiently and align to company policies and verifies compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Revises Pharma Services contract and budget templates to ensure consistency with all contracting guidelines and company policies and procedures
  • Maintains day-to-day inventory and tracking of contracts and monitors deadlines of pending agreements to ensure timely and complete execution
  • Communicates with members of the sales team to facilitate necessary documentation (i.e. external validation reports, off-the-shelf offerings, and test code inventories, etc.) is provided to clients, as needed
  • Follows all applicable company and departmental policies and procedures
Experience, Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science or similar discipline required
  • 5+ years of experience in the diagnostic industry with experience across multiple modalities
  • Experience in the following is highly preferred: laboratory management, sales support functions, technical laboratory validation and clinical trial testing, drafting agreements, reviewing agreements, edits/redlining, contract lifecycle management
  • Experience in a laboratory setting is preferred
  • Experience in clinical trials preferred
  • Strong computer and internet research skills
  • Proficient in all MS Office programs with superior knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented, enthusiastic, self-directed, and well-organized with ability to multi-task
  • Able to always maintain impeccable confidentiality and sensitivity for company confidential and proprietary information
  • Some travel required to subsidiary laboratory locations 10% of the time
