Job summary

This job requires a high degree of specialized expertise, as well as the ability to maintain established quality standards. This person must be driven, determined, and self-disciplined, with a commitment to accurate, high-quality, and rapid results.

The job environment is structured, with clear job expectations. Although the pace of the work is faster than average, this person never compromises quality. They communicate and build relationships based on the technical aspects of the work.

The work requires specialized knowledge, as well as technical ingenuity. Someone in this role must be comfortable solving problems while adhering to approved organizational systems and technology. They will be expected to produce thorough, high-quality work. New ideas and concepts are also important but must be carefully analyzed and tested before being implemented.

When managing others, this person must be able to ensure policies and procedures are followed and time frames are met. To delegate effectively, they should provide structured opportunities for people to develop their own expertise, with the goal of building shared responsibility for high-quality work. As such, someone in this role should be comfortable providing coaching and training support.

This person must be comfortable operating within a pre-defined span of control. The ideal candidate is someone who fosters trust, demonstrates a sense of urgency, consistently hits quality standards, and makes decisions in support of company guidelines.

Job characteristics

  • Preference for varied tasks or projects. Comfortable balancing multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Focus is on technical and analytical work. Must adhere to established standards and guidelines, troubleshooting problems based on expert knowledge.
  • Needs to make decisive, quick decisions within a pre-defined span of control, adhering to accepted quality standards, policies, and procedures. Will also train others to make and uphold accurate decisions.
  • Communicates based on the task or technical needs at hand, defining clear team roles. Minimal collaboration is required, although they must prioritize specific tasks or problems.
  • Leads according to specialty or expertise. Will act with conviction to ensure quality standards, rarely delegating. When delegation is required, follow up will be close.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience as a Supervisor.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
  • Knowledgeable of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Must be self-motivated and a great team player.

SCHEDULE

This is an exempt salaried position. Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM; however, employees are expected to meet business needs as required.

Monday through Friday, some Saturdays required based on workload

COMPENSATION

  • Exempt position in California with annual compensation ranging from $70,720 to $79,500
  • Final compensation will be determined based on experience.
  • This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
  • Quarterly bonus option available for most employees
