Role Overview
Teifi Digital is hiring its first Controller to help build a dependable financial function that supports the company’s continued growth. This position suits someone early in their finance career who is ready to take ownership of core accounting activities while learning how to run effective financial operations in a digital services environment. The Controller will handle daily bookkeeping, assist with month end reporting, help improve financial processes, and provide leadership with clear and accurate financial information. As the first hire in this area, the individual will play a key part in shaping scalable financial practices that align with the complexity of our work with large Shopify Plus merchants.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking
- Execute month end close and prepare financial statements for review
- Maintain accurate project level financial data and support analysis of project profitability
- Assist in developing budgets, forecasts, and cash flow updates
- Help introduce and refine internal controls, finance procedures, and accounting workflows
- Coordinate with external accountants on tax, audit, and compliance needs
- Maintain and organize financial records, documentation, and system data
- Create a financial dashboard and provide timely financial insights to the leadership team as needed
- Provide ad hoc financial reports and analysis to support leadership decisions
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of accounting experience of progressive accounting experience
- 1-2 years of experience working in-house, preferably at a technology or services company
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
- CPA professional designation
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Detail focused with good organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, learn quickly and adapt to a growing, fast paced environment
- Interest in building processes and improving financial systems
- A proactive mindset and comfort working independently when needed
- Experience managing SR&ED claims preferred
- Experience working with Quickbooks Online preferred

The pay range for this role is:
100,000 - 130,000 CAD per year(Vancouver)
