The role requires collaboration with project teams (internal and external), an understanding of industry standards, and proficiency in relevant software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Coordination: Attend internal project meetings to understand project requirements, review assigned tasks and communicate the need for additional information or scope clarification. Ensure timely updates to stakeholders regarding project timelines and workflow issues.
  • Quality Control: Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure the accuracy and constructability of MEP content for both 2D and 3D deliverables. Review work to verify that models are clash-free and meet company quality standards.
  • Model Management: Develop and manage project-specific models, ensuring correct schedules, views, and standards are used to create lean models and accurate documentation. Maintain consistency in naming conventions and ensure all required parameters are properly populated.
  • Software Expertise: Maintain proficiency in VDC software platforms such as AutoCAD, Revit, Fabrication CADmep, BIM 360, Revizto, Stratus, and Navisworks. Assist in troubleshooting software issues and ensuring compatibility with established workflows.
  • Revit and Navisworks Proficiency: Use advanced features of Revit, including family editing, shared/project parameters, and fabrication parts. Utilize Navisworks for functions such as clash detection, creating cuts, search sets, and generating clash reports.
  • Utility Design Knowledge: Understand and interpret piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) to create accurate utility models. Detail mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems following industry standards to facilitate ease of fabrication and installation.
  • Fabrication Knowledge: Understand shop fabrication and field installation practices. Familiarize with offsite manufacturing (OSM) techniques to optimize production and streamline fabrication processes.
  • Contract and Code Knowledge: Develop a working knowledge of contract documents, building codes (e.g., IBC, UFC, CBC), and utility specifications (e.g., MSS, SMACNA, NEMA, NFPA). Ensure deliverables comply with relevant codes and engineering standards.
  • Installation and Spool Drawings: Produce plan, section, 3D and various other views in Revit that comply with ISAT standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, showing increasing responsibility for BIM project components.

  • Expertise in BIM tools and applications related to cost, scheduling, estimating, design, and coordination.

  • Proven written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical material effectively.
