About This Position

Job Summary:

The Injection Molding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Injection Molding Department. This role coordinates work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to maximize productivity. The Injection Molding Supervisor will manage a team of production workers, ensure adherence to safety regulations, and work towards continuous improvement in the production process.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of production on assigned shift, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

  • Responsible for preparing work centers for production by coordinating setups, materials, and labor distribution based on the bill of materials.

  • Reviews and executes the daily production schedule with the Scheduler, adjust the production schedule as needed.

  • Monitor shift performance and initiate corrective measures as needed to meet expectations regarding safe and correct work procedures, housekeeping, competency, etc.

  • Lead, direct and monitor troubleshooting of shift problems, prioritizing work orders and coordinating repairs in a timely manner at the optimum cost to the company.

  • Ensure all production documentation, such as reports and logs, is maintained and updated.

  • Maintains time and production records of employees under their direction.

  • Check production output according to specifications (quality control).

  • Submit near misses and accident reports timely and conducts thorough root cause analysis.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to apply fractions, addition, subtraction, division and decimals, and common fractions in all units of measure.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety procedures.

  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment and mechanical equipment and tools.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and efficient time management skills.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 5 years relevant experience will be considered in lieu of HS equivalency.

  • Minimum of three years of experience as an individual contributor in the assigned area.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience overseeing a team.

  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Systems.

  • Working knowledge of MRP or similar software programs preferred.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. Push and Pull carts and pallet jacks, loaded or empty.

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Charles Industries weight rule: 35 lbs. and under can be lifted alone. 35 - 50 lbs. can be lifted by one person if they feel comfortable doing so. 50 lbs. or more requires the employee to get assistance or use a lifting device. (i.e. pallet jack, forklift, scissor table, buddy system).

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential job functions.

  • Employees regularly work near moving, vibrating, mechanical equipment, occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Exposed to minimal risk of electrical shock. The noise level is moderate.

  • Safety shoes/boots and safety glasses are required.
