Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mold Remediation Specialist to support mold remediation and environmental cleanup activities at an onsite government installation in San Antonio, Texas. This role is responsible for identifying and containing affected areas, performing mold remediation work in accordance with applicable safety and regulatory requirements, removing contaminated materials, and helping restore facilities to a safe and serviceable condition. The ideal candidate will have hands-on remediation experience, knowledge of containment and decontamination procedures, and the ability to work safely in a regulated military installation environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform mold remediation activities, including containment setup, removal of mold-contaminated materials, cleaning, sanitizing, and disposal in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations.
- Inspect affected areas to identify visible mold growth, moisture intrusion, and conditions contributing to contamination.
- Establish and maintain proper containment barriers, engineering controls, and work zones to prevent cross-contamination.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment and safe work practices throughout remediation activities.
- Operate remediation equipment such as HEPA vacuums, air scrubbers, dehumidifiers, and other drying or filtration tools as required.
- Remove and replace damaged materials, as directed, and support basic restoration efforts following remediation work.
- Document work performed, site conditions, materials removed, corrective actions taken, and any follow-up recommendations.
- Coordinate with facility management, maintenance personnel, and government representatives regarding remediation scope, progress, and completion status.
- Comply with all site safety, environmental, and installation access requirements while working in a secure facility environment.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Texas Mold Remediation Contractor license or other applicable TDLR-related licensure, as required by the contract scope.
- IICRC AMRT or similar mold remediation certification.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in mold remediation or a closely related environmental remediation field.
- Applicable certifications and/or licenses in the respective field required, consistent with Texas mold remediation requirements and contract scope.
- Working knowledge of mold containment, removal procedures, moisture control, PPE requirements, and safe handling of contaminated materials.
- Experience using remediation equipment, including air filtration, drying, and cleaning equipment.
- Ability to prepare clear and accurate remediation documentation and work records.
- Ability to work onsite full-time in San Antonio, Texas.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required installation/base access.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting remediation work in government, military, industrial, or secure facility environments.
- Familiarity with environmental health and safety procedures in controlled-access worksites.
- Secret clearance or prior eligibility for access to military installations preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work safely in a high-compliance environment.
