Advanced Laser Systems Technology (ALST) has an immediate opening for a Contracts - Sr. Specialist. ALST is located in Orlando, Florida and is part of Intelligent Manufacturing Solutions (IMS) which is headquartered in Londonderry, NH. Requirements:

Job Summary

Responsible for all facets of contract formation and administration including proposal preparation, fact-finding, negotiation and definitization of assigned contracts. Interaction with external customers, internal Program Management office and functional departments. Protects the interest of the company by understanding and interpreting contractual terms and conditions. Utilizes working knowledge of Government regulations including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS) and other agency regulations. Manages the order entry and contract review process of assigned programs, including customer POs, solicitations, proposal development, contract change control process and overall administration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews customer RFQs and contract T&Cs and advises program and contracts leadership on contractual rights and obligations.
  • Identifies contractual issues; analyzes impact & ramifications; and evaluates and recommends alternative solutions consistent with company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, and sound business judgment.
  • Maintains an in-depth familiarity with all details of assigned contracts, including cost, price, delivery/milestone commitments, payment terms, intellectual property, profit/fee, change status and restrictive clauses.
  • Maximize profit and cash flow while minimizing risks during contract negotiation.
  • Close interaction with external customers and internal program management office.
  • Responsible for proposal preparation, contract negotiation and contract administration of assigned contracts/programs. Serves as the official repository for all contractual documentation and correspondence relative to assigned contracts.
  • Serves as the primary communication conduit between ALST and the respective customers.
  • Provides proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Maintains historical information for assigned contracts.
  • Provides a proactive voice in the business process to mitigate risk.
  • Advises senior management of contractual rights and obligations.
  • Foster trust and confidence with internal stakeholders by driving change through collaborative, constructive solutions challenges, while demonstrating strong leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Clearance
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Self-motivation and high attention to detail
  • Direct experience working with FAR, DFARS, TINA, ITAR, EAR, CAS.
  • Experience with managing IDIQ’s, CPAF, CPFF and FFP contracts
  • Detail-oriented with ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work additional hours, evenings and weekends, to support customer commitments

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 6 years of prior related contracts experience, or a graduate degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior contracts experience
  • 6+ years of experience with contracts management in a DoD environment including domestic and international contracts
  • 6+ years of experience with FAR, DFAR, ITAR, EAR, & CAS.
  • 6+ years of experience with using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • 4+ years of experience with negotiating complex contracts.
