Position Summary
We are seeking a driven Local Sales Representative with direct experience selling protein products (meat, poultry, seafood, plant-based protein, or protein ingredients) to grow and maintain customer relationships within an assigned local territory. This role focuses on developing new business, expanding existing accounts, and acting as the primary point of contact for customers in the protein space.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage relationships with local customers including retailers, distributors, foodservice operators, processors, or manufacturers
Drive sales growth by identifying new opportunities within the protein market
Promote and sell protein products while communicating value, quality, and consistency
Conduct in-person sales calls, product presentations, and customer visits within the local territory
Manage pricing, quotes, and negotiations in alignment with company guidelines
Collaborate with supply chain, operations, and customer service to ensure on-time fulfillment
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs within the protein industry
Maintain accurate records of sales activity, forecasts, and customer interactions in CRM tools
Required Qualifications
2+ years of sales experience specifically within the protein industry
(Examples: beef, poultry, pork, seafood, plant-based proteins, protein ingredients, or further processing)
Proven success in B2B sales, account management, or territory sales
Strong understanding of protein supply chains, customer requirements, and pricing dynamics
Ability to build trust and long-term relationships with local customers
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Willingness to travel locally as required
Preferred Qualifications
Established local network within the protein, foodservice, or retail market
Experience calling on distributors, processors, or large-volume accounts
Familiarity with USDA-regulated environments and protein quality standards
CRM experience and basic sales reporting skills
