PFAS Extractions Technician (Full- Time) at Garden State Laboratories – Lakehurst, New Jersey

Job Summary

Garden State Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a full-time Laboratory Extractions Technician, who will report to the PFAS Manager located in our Lakehurst, New Jersey Lab. The PFAS Extractions Technician will be responsible for the timely extraction of drinking water samples for EPA method 533, preparing reagents and analytical standards to support analysis, and maintaining all related documentation according to our laboratory standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Extraction of drinking water samples by EPA method 533
• Balance calibrations
• Shipping/Receiving and general facility support.
• Reagent Inventory.
• Standard supply inventory
• Adherence to safety and labeling procedures.
• Preparation of all reagents, calibration, and spiking standards.
• Daily checks or calibrations as required on any necessary equipment (eg. balances, refrigerators).
• Notification to the manager of any sample that appears highly contaminated or has other critical findings.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment for self and other lab employees as required by GSL health and safety guidelines.
• Other duties may be assigned by the technical manager to accommodate short-term departmental needs.

The successful candidate will be afforded the opportunity to learn HPLC MS/MS from our highly experienced staff.

Experience & Education Requirements

• Associate degree in chemistry or other related science, or an equivalent two (2) years of environmental laboratory experience.
• Garden State Laboratories provides training to all new hires.

• Computer skills: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Experience with a LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) is a plus
