The RoleWe are seeking passionate and experienced Elementary General Education Teachers and Special Education Teachers to join our growing team for the 2026-2027 school year. Teachers at Amani are leaders in the classroom, committed to building strong relationships with students and fostering an environment where academic excellence and personal growth go hand in hand.
You will:
Create engaging, differentiated lessons using the provided curriculum to meet the diverse needs of learners.Utilize standards-aligned assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.Maintain a structured and positive classroom environment that upholds Amanis core values and high expectations.Build relationships with families through effective communication and collaboration.Participate in data-driven planning meetings, weekly professional development, and schoolwide events.Contribute to a supportive team culture through collaboration with colleagues and administrators.
Key Responsibilities
Develop lesson plans for in-class and virtual instruction.Create and maintain digital classrooms using Google Classroom and other online platforms.Analyze and use assessment data to inform instructional strategies.Monitor and manage student behavior effectively, reinforcing positive behaviors and addressing challenges.Participate in annual two-week staff orientation and training.Schedule and Location
School day: 7:45 AM4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.School year: Second week of August through end of June.On-site role in Mount Vernon, NY.Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Education or a related field.NYS Teaching Certification required.Experience teaching elementary-aged students preferred.Proficiency in Google Suite and Google Classroom.Commitment to equitable and inclusive educational practices.Start DateAugust 2026
