Cashier Full Time at Ganahl Lumber Co – Anaheim, California

Position SummaryWe are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Cashier to support front-end operations in a fast-paced hardware and lumber yard environment. This role is critical in creating a positive first and last impression for our customers, including contractors, builders, and DIY homeowners.

Full-time availability Monday through Saturday is required.Schedule• Full-Time Position
• Required Availability: Monday – Saturday
• Shifts may include opening, mid-day, and closing based on business needsKey Responsibilities• Greet all customers promptly and professionally
• Accurately process transactions including cash, credit, and account sales
• Handle contractor accounts, charge sales, and receipts with attention to detail
• Assist customers with basic product questions (tools, hardware, fasteners, materials)
• Communicate clearly with yard staff and departments for pickups and special orders
• Direct customers to appropriate departments (lumber, tools, paint, etc.)
• Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked front counter area
• Process returns, exchanges, and refunds according to company policy
• Balance cash drawer and ensure accuracy at shift start and end
• Support front-end merchandising (impulse items, fasteners, seasonal items)
• Assist with answering phones and routing calls as neededQualifications• Previous cashier or retail experience preferred (hardware experience a plus)
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable working with contractors and jobsite professionals
• Basic math skills and ability to handle transactions accurately
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Dependable, punctual, and team-orientedPreferred Knowledge (Not Required)• Familiarity with hardware, tools, lumber, or building materials
• Understanding of contractor accounts or charge sales
• Experience in a lumber yard or building supply environmentExpectations• Deliver consistent, friendly, and efficient customer service
• Maintain high accuracy with all transactions
• Be proactive in helping customers and supporting team members
• Communicate effectively with yard and sales staff
• Follow company procedures and safety guidelinesPhysical Requirements• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Frequent use of hands for scanning, handling small parts, and processing transactions
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs occasionally
• Comfortable working in a busy, sometimes dusty or outdoor-adjacent environment
