Liberty Electric in Salem, NH is looking for Apprentices for our projects in NH and the MA Merrimack Valley area. The Electrical Apprentice is an entry-level position designed for individuals eager to learn the electrical trade through hands-on experience and mentorship. You will work directly under the supervision of a licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician, assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems while adhering to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Liberty Electric’s high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation Support: Assist in the installation of electrical components, including conduit, wiring, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, and switches.
  • Site Preparation: Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using hand and power tools;
  • Troubleshooting: Help diagnose electrical issues using testing devices like multimeters and voltmeters to ensure system safety and functionality.
  • Blueprint Reading: Learn to interpret technical diagrams and blueprints to understand the layout of circuits and equipment.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance on residential and commercial systems.
  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized work area and strictly follow OSHA safety guidelines and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
  • Inventory & Logistics: Manage tool and material organization in company vehicles;
Requirements:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Enrollment in an accredited electrical apprenticeship program is highly preferred.
  • Technical Aptitude: Basic familiarity with hand tools (screwdrivers, wire strippers, drills) and a strong mechanical mindset.
  • Professionalism: Excellent communication skills and a "customer-first" attitude. You represent Liberty Electric on every job site.
  • Compliance: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Mindset: A strong desire for continuous learning and the ability to take constructive feedback from senior electricians

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs, bend, twist, kneel, squat, climb ladders and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Ability to work at heights - ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and roofs.
  • Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel throughout our region, including long hours of driving.
