The Clinical Systems Analyst (CSA) functions as a clinical user advocate and consultant, working to maximize the effective use of existing or new products by leveraging strong clinical knowledge and workflow experience. This role requires a solid understanding of electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare technologies to ensure systems meet regulatory requirements while supporting efficient and effective patient care. The CSA plays a critical role in the software development life cycle by proactively analyzing current operational workflows, systems, and technology, and collaborating with key stakeholders to develop strategies that address problems, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
The Clinical Systems Analyst (CSA) will:
- Assesses market and customer needs and pain points.
- Gathers clinical data, analyzes evidence-based research, and creates clinical use cases.
- Offers support and clinical guidance to DSS’ product team members to promote timely release of products and mitigate risks.
- Creates mockups and workflows that encompass requirements and optimize end-user experience.
- Collaborates across project teams to refine requirements, guide development, and aid in testing.
- Works with the product and functional design team to support the development of the company’s design standards to ensure mutual understanding of design prototypes, functional requirements, and testing plans.
- Collaborates with the VP of Federal Product Operations, Product Director, Senior PLMs, PLMs, and PMs on the strategic goals and vision for federal products.
- Assists the VP of Federal Product Operations when cross collaborating with the Commercial Product Line department on shared opportunities with products, services, and innovation.
- Leads cross-functional team engagements, which may include customers and or partner companies to ensure smooth working rhythms, clinical workflow mapping/analysis/diagramming and information sharing.
- Contributes to the design, development, testing and implementation of products through working with Product Owner (Product Line Manager) and the Scrum team.
- Utilizes enterprise collaboration tools such as Confluence, JIRA, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams to manage daily duties.
- Follows process improvement models to promote timely execution of viable products.
- Travels when needed, including weekend travel when deemed necessary (abiding by DSS’ established travel guidelines).
- Travels up to 60% of the year or more in support of assigned products/projects and/or as required by the VP of Federal Product Operations and/or DSS Management.
Other Duties:
- Works with Sales and Marketing to promote revenue-building opportunities by proactively engaging customers as a clinical subject-matter expert and liaison.
- Creates product brochures, whitepapers, and other Marketing collaterals to promote DSS’ brand message, products, and services.
- Identifies pain points to drive software innovations and propose solutions that bring value to DSS.
- Provides consulting services to maximize the function of a product, including assisting in product demonstrations for customers.
- Gather metrics and other qualitative product data to drive impact assessment efforts for DSS.
- Assists with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and broadcasting information as appropriate.
- Participates proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices.
- Identifies and removes impediments to reduce distractions that negatively impact deliverables.

Security and Privacy Responsibilities:
Individuals working for DSS or any Subsidiary will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high-risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.

Required Skills:
- 3+ years of relevant experience working in the healthcare industry.
- Is abreast of contemporary developments in EHR Software.
- Capable of understanding potential clients’ workflows to make suggestions as to which Applications would be beneficial to them.
- Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision and with both technical and non-technical departments.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills; both verbal and written.
- Demonstrates the ability to facilitate and lead meetings.
- Is knowledgeable of and able to use all MS Office Suite products including Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, etc.
Preferred Skills:
- Applicable clinical and administrative experiences in the acute care healthcare setting or applicable EHR vendor experience.
- Prior experience working for a software development company with knowledge of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures.
- Possesses the ability to guide staff in the fundamentals of iterative development, agile software development processes and procedures.
- Project Management background is preferred.
Education:
- Required: Associate degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or appropriate clinical or administrative field related to healthcare preferred.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or other advanced degree in a related field of study
- MSN or MS in Health Informatics
Certification(s), License(s):
- Required: Specialized active clinical license(s)
- RN, APRN, LPN, etc.
- Preferred: Professional certification(s)
- Scrum Master Certification [CSM], Certified Scrum Product Owner [CSPO], Project Management Professional [PMP] (Must be willing and able to attain certifications if not currently achieved)
- Lean Six Sigma
Years of experience in a similar role:

Compensation:
Salary at DSS Inc is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,000.00 to $80,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of DSS, Inc. total compensation package for employees.
