Job Description
Overview:
The Quality Engineer (Probationary) will support the development and standardization of
quality systems across engineering operations, including design, manufacturing, and
documentation workflows.
This role is focused on building a strong foundation in process definition, documentation,
and digital infrastructure. During the initial period, the engineer will work cross-functionally
to map workflows, improve process visibility, and support the transition from manual to
digital systems across engineering.
This position is designed to ramp into a full Quality Engineer role with increasing ownership
over time.
Key Responsibilities (Probationary Focus):
Support the development and standardization of procedures and work instructions
across engineering operations (EE, ME, and other company departments).
Assist in mapping end-to-end engineering processes, from design through
manufacturing, to identify gaps and inefficiencies.
Contribute to digital transformation initiatives, helping transition engineering and
quality processes from manual/analog to structured digital systems.
Own and improve the SharePoint structure for engineering, including document
control, organization, and migration of legacy data.
Work with engineering and operations teams to ensure consistent documentation
practices and version control.
Support the definition of process flows, handoffs, and responsibilities across
teams.
Assist in organizing and tracking quality data, documentation, and process metrics.
Support root cause analysis and corrective action tracking (CAPA) as processes are
formalized.
Participate in internal audits and ensure engineering documentation aligns with ISO
9001 and internal standards.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field (or near
completion).
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Basic understanding of engineering and manufacturing workflows.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools; willingness to learn SharePoint and digital
systems.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work across multiple teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to ISO 9001 or quality management systems (QMS).
Experience with process mapping, documentation, or workflow tools.
Familiarity with Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement concepts.
Interest in digital transformation within engineering environments.
Core Competencies (Development Focus):
Process mapping and standardization across engineering
Systems thinking and cross-functional alignment
Continuous improvement mindset
Clear documentation and communication
Adaptability and learning agility
Skills and Specifications:
Ability to understand and connect workflows across engineering disciplines
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Clear and structured communication
High attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple process improvement efforts simultaneously
Comfortable working with both technical and operational stakeholders
Growth Path:
Successful completion of the probationary period will lead to expanded ownership of
quality systems across engineering operations, including audits, supplier quality,
advanced data analysis, and continuous improvement leadership.
