About This Position
Based in Park City, UT, Triumph Geared Solutions is a leading independent aerospace gear and gear box supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 200 employees. The Company’s key products and services include power transmission systems, integrated gearbox design and builds, airframe mounted accessor drives (AMAD’s), engine mounted accessory drives (EMAD’s), rotorcraft transmissions, turboshaft internal gearboxes, emergency power gearboxes, and large complex aero gears for both OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.
Park City, UT lies east of Salt Lake City in the western state of Utah. Framed by the craggy Wasatch Range, it’s bordered by the Deer Valley Resort and the huge Park City Mountain Resort, both known for their ski slopes.
We are currently seeking a Site Quality Manager for our Park City, UT Location.
The Site Quality Manager will be responsible for leading the Park City Quality organization to drive best in class performance and drive a positive Quality and continuous improvement culture to effectively manage quality cost. This includes defining quality processes, standards, specifications, and other technical data necessary to meet manufacturing process requirements, FAA and Company quality requirements as well as supporting other functions in the pursuit of excellence. They will also oversee, monitor, and document employee training, performance, and compliance with Company policies and procedures. Responsibilities also include regular interactions with site specific high level customers.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the implementation of the site business strategy as well as promoting close collaborative interactions with the Engineering, Program Mgmt, Operations and Human Resources management teams.
- Direct Quality staff functions such as Receiving Inspection, Quality Engineering, Material Review Board, Final Inspection to support production and provide Quality leadership / guidance on all process integrity concerns of the facility.
- Chair and Corrective Action Boards to address trends across programs, value streams, and the site as a whole
- Manage the performance of the team, including development actions to further individual’s capabilities and eliminate single point failures
- Responsible for owning and maintaining the site’s Quality Management System, updating and improving as necessary.
- Be the primary point of contact for AS9100 audits and customer audits
- Promote people development by actively engaging in coaching, mentoring, knowledge transfer, training, performance management and career development
- Ensure adequate resources are in place for Quality compliance and cross training is performed to maximize the Quality staff.
- Work collaboratively with all functions (Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain) on Quality matters.
- Proactively drive the development of robust processes that are used by the business to control all aspects that may affect Quality of the product or service being provided.
- Provides Quality leadership / guidance on relevant Quality Management System matters as well as product compliance
- Make decisions to protect product safety for products and services provided by their organizational unit.
- Balance good compliance practices with other business initiatives to avoid conflict and allow all objectives of the business to be satisfied
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 7+ years of Manufacturing and Quality Assurance experience in Aerospace or other complex manufacturing industry with exacting requirements
- 5+ years of relevant people management
- Experience with AS9100
- Compliance and Regulatory experience
- Strong Root Cause and Corrective Action skills
- Ability to effectively lead a team of diverse backgrounds and experience
- Competency and aptitude for influencing organizational cultural change
- Organizational skills, creativity, problem solving, and visionary forward thinking skills
- Accomplished in building positive relationships with co-workers, suppliers, and customers
- Strong facilitation, oral and written communications to all levels within the organization and external stakeholders
- Possess a leadership style that is effective at influencing organizational cultural change
- Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with 3rd Party Registrars
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)
- Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Quality Management, or similar
- 10+ years of Manufacturing and Quality Assurance experience in Aerospace or other complex manufacturing industry with exacting requirements
- AS9100 Lead Auditor Certification
- Lean 6 Sigma Certification
- Experience with SPC and Control Plans
- Experience with Advanced Quality Processes (PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, 8D, A3 Problem Solving)
- Experience with FAA and EASA regulations
- Experience with Zero Defect Planning
