Responsibilities

The Business Development Director is responsible for cultivating strategic relationships, driving revenue growth, and expanding SAM’s presence within designated markets. Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), this role partners closely with executive leadership to develop and execute sales strategies, enhance client engagement, and achieve annual business growth goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Vice President and Regional Operations Director to create and implement sales plans that align with regional growth objectives
  • Develop performance goals and provide leadership for Business Development Managers
  • Oversee all business development activities to meet or exceed annual revenue and growth targets
  • Report regularly on pipeline progress, client outreach, and marketing initiatives
  • Identify and cultivate new client relationships to expand SAM’s market presence
  • Provide executive-level consultation to clients, guiding them on brand development and service solutions
  • Collaborate with SME staff to develop compelling proposal content and creative deliverables
  • Develop strategic proposal and pitch approaches based on RFP requirements and client needs
  • Work alongside senior leadership to coordinate pitch teams and presentation strategies
  • Support client meetings by conducting background research, defining approach, and determining profit margins
  • Represent SAM and SME areas of expertise at industry events, conferences, and trade shows
  • Prepare accurate business development forecasts and track key performance metrics


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, or equivalent education and experience
  • Previous experience in similar industry sales success
  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Capable of working both individually and as a part of a very dynamic team of professionals.
  • Above average leadership, attention to detail, and organizational, interpersonal, and team-oriented skills
  • Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines
