GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Senior Loss Prevention Officer reports to the Loss Prevention Manager and assists in the supervision of the Loss Prevention team. In this role, the Senior Loss Prevention Officer is responsible to communicate departmental expectations established by the Loss Prevention Manager and senior leadership within the company; lead and coordinate team efforts in the achievement of departmental and individual goals; and provide guidance and support to Loss Prevention Officers to ensure they have information, equipment and tools to achieve desired results. The Senior Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for shrink and safety results of their assigned work location(s); the detection, apprehension, and deterrence of internal and external theft; compliance of company policies and procedures related to theft preventions, safety, and inventory management; and safety awareness training. The Senior Loss Prevention Officer is responsible to manage daily operations of third-party contracts, including supervision and scheduling of Loss Prevention staff assigned to work on-site of third-parties. The Senior Loss Prevention Officer works to support the Supply Chain process through regular communication with Inventory Managers, and assists in the completion of audits, inspections, investigations, and enforcement of vendor/supplier processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise the Loss Prevention team under the direction of the Loss Prevention Manager and ensure compliance with company policies, LP case management system, and maintenance of all related LP records
• Monitor workflow and adjust tasks for LP team as necessary to achieve desired goals
• Monitor time-keeping of LP team and give final approval for submitted work schedules
• In collaboration with the Loss Prevention Manager and Human Resources, provide LP team with regular performance feedback, and as warranted, disciplinary action
• Provide regular Loss Prevention training to LP team and oversee the development of individual members of the LP team
• Maintain strict confidence of all employee and employment-related information
• Promote a culture of safety at all company locations, to include LP best practices
• Regularly collaborate with location Inventory Management to investigate inventory discrepancies
• Provide regular LP training to employees for building awareness of LP strategies
• Development of employee incentives programs to raise shrink, safety and LP awareness
• Detect, investigate, and successfully resolve internal and external dishonesty
• Recover assets and make apprehensions in accordance with company policies
• Ensure proper operation/repair of CCTV equipment
• Write reports, maintain records, and retain evidence accurately and completely
• Act as liaison between company location(s) and criminal justice community
• Represent company with professional appearance and demeanor
• Communicate effectively with employees, customers, vendors, suspected shoplifters, and authorities
• Prepare and present documents to local authorities
• Testify in court to the events of an investigation, as necessary
• Maintain required documents, reports, logs, evidence, and files in various media
• Monitor assigned location(s) to ensure a safe environment and report exceptions appropriately
• Maintain and appropriately communicate confidential information regarding investigations
• Travel to company location(s) as assigned
• Demonstrate regular predictable attendance

• Attend company-provided, an non-provided, training programs, seminars or conferences
• Work assigned and varying shifts
• Perform other tasks and duties as requested by supervisor
Daily
• Management of emails
• Status reports with store-based loss prevention staff
• Execute shrink-reduction tactics
• Use investigative tools
• Apprehend shoplifters
Weekly
• Establish priorities for loss prevention team under the direction of the Loss Prevention Manager
• Complete restitution paperwork and establish restitution payment plans
• Analyze currency overages/shortages
• Ensure physical security controls are in place
• Clean and maintain CCTV equipment
Monthly
• Attend Rogue Valley Loss Prevention Association (RVLPA) meetings
• Attend and participate in safety meetings
Annually
• Participate in DPSST continuing education/Maintain DPSST certification
• Provide monthly updates to the Loss Prevention Manager
• Inspect/clean CCTV equipment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise all Loss Prevention Officers under the direction of the Loss Prevention Manager
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
REASONING ABILITY
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
OTHER SKILLS AND/OR ATTRIBUTES
• Must have the ability to become DPSST certified as Supervisory Manager and Unarmed Professional
• Ability to complete and pass all required loss prevention training
• Knowledge of electronic information systems for data research and entry
• Ability to work within company guidelines on all instances of theft, safety, or security situations
• Ability to accurately and completely recall and record details and events of situations that occur
• Possess a basic understanding of CCTV systems including how to record, review, and copy video
• Ability to make decisions in stressful situations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and use time efficiently
• Sense of urgency towards work requirements and responsibilities

The pay range for this role is:21.85 - 26.70 USD per hour(South Medford)
