About This Position
Description:
Job Summary:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, attentive camp counselor to lead, support, and motivate campers as they enjoy all that the camp has to offer. The camp counselor will help plan events and lead group events, monitor campers, and respond to incidents. You should be positive, proactive, and caring while focusing on giving campers a fun, safe camp experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- CREATES WOW by: anticipating needs and wants, being prepared, being continuously enthusiastic, executing flawlessly and doing it now.
- Provides supervision to the young members/guests utilizing the equipment and grounds of the club.
- Ensures that the safety of all participants in the camp by constant monitoring of activities and programs around the club.
- Meets and greets new and existing young members and their parents.
- Assist in the on-going development, planning, and execution of fun camp programs.
- Report and/or seek assistance for member/youth complaints as they arise
- To properly clean, disinfect and maintain all areas utilized, including all camp rooms, Sports Court, equipment, and other spaces
- Provides preventative maintenance to all club equipment.
- Assist with service lunch and snacks to children
- Assist the Youth Coordinator and Director with other projects as assigned.
- Adheres to all of the various written mandatory standards of operation, policies, procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, etc., all of which go to make up the essential functions of the job.
Work Schedule
- Seasonal/Temporary, 30-33 hours weekly
- Day Shift 8am to 2:30pm or 5pm.
- Split Shift - 2pm to 5pm After Camp
Compensation
- $13 per hour

Qualification/Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Upbeat, engaging personality.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to learn and enforce the camps safety and operating rules
Education/Training/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience as Camp Counselor or experience working with children
- Certified in CPR/First Aid/ AED
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods (6–8 hours per shift)
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 25–40 pounds (sports equipment, coolers, supplies, or assisting children when necessary)
- Capability to participate in physical activities such as running, swimming, sports, and outdoor games
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, sun, and humidity
- Quick reflexes and mobility to respond to emergencies or supervise active children
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach frequently throughout the day
- Sufficient stamina and energy to engage with children in a high-energy environment
- Ability to see, hear, and communicate clearly to ensure safety and effective supervision
