Job Summary

Position responsible for running a Molding machine that shapes and profiles lumber to a specific thickness and width by planning all four sides.

Responsibilities and Duties

● Run jobs on the molder in the order set forth by the Lead

● Make certain all components are machined to correct specifications

● Notify the Lead if the machine is showing signs of needed maintenance

● Identify various species and grades of lumber

● Inspect components for defects, and rerun components as needed

● Strong communication skills with other employees and Lead

● Be able to read a tape measure and calipers

● Be able to read and understand a cut sheet

● Be a strong team player

● Be able to follow directions and adjust to changes throughout the shift

● Have a strong attention to detail and quality focused

● Maintain a clean and clutter free work area

● Have a strong desire to learn and great work ethics

● Ability to work overtime as needed

● Ability to perform other tasks as required by the company

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

  • Remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Move about the factory floor to access machinery, materials, and product storage.
  • Transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Operate, activate, and use production machinery and hand tools that require repetitive

motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers.

  • Detects and inspect parts for quality control at close vision (less than 20 inches) and assess safety hazards from a distance (20 feet or more).

The employee will be exposed to a manufacturing environment where the noise level can be loud and will work around moving mechanical parts. Regular exposure to airborne particles and temperature fluctuations should be expected. The use of appropriate PPE is required.
