About This Position
Position Description:
Additional Information: Corrigan Oil Co. - Who We Are:
The primary function of the Brine Driver is to drive a semi-truck with trailer, able to safely load and drive trucks with up to 148,000 lbs. of weight and spray onto roads and / or fill storage containers in a safe manor; delivering brine and water-based products. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Driver Manager.
Shifts Available:
Day Shift: 5:00am - 5:00pm Tuesday - Saturday.
Night Shift: 5:00pm - 5:00am - Tuesday - Saturday.
Essential Job Functions:
Transport brine from point of pickup to point of delivery in a safe and efficient manner, following safety protocols.
Maintain logs of vehicles service and repair status, following state and federal regulations.
Work with dispatch to calculate out the most efficient and effective route for delivery.
Ensure that the truck is loaded with brine or water for each drop location.
Deliver products in correct quantities as instructed by dispatch and paperwork.
Inform dispatch and safety of any DOT fines, citations or any other relevant issues.
Communicate with Dispatch any potential customer issues such as complaints, spills, leaks, incidents, accidents, injuries and vehicle issues.
Communicate with maintenance in regard to any vehicle issues or needs and report any issues immediately.
Operate all vehicles assigned to them.
Keep the truck clean and orderly at all times.
Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, checking that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
Responsible for general maintenance of truck, including but not limited to: checking oil and fuel levels.
Complete all pre-trip requirements before each truck run and post-trip requirement at the end of each shift.
Read and complete written documentation with respect to bill of lading, inventory, pre and post trips inspections, orders and brine ticket copies. Ensure tickets match orders.
Able to handle exposure to dust, fumes, high and low temperatures, slippery surfaces, low-lit work areas, heavy traffic and high noise levels.
Able to push 146 and pull 146 pounds, lift 50 pounds, and climb ladder with a minimum of 3 rungs regularly.
Able to be exposed to drive in hazardous conditions, including inclement weather, tight quarters, and inner-city locations.
Regular and reliable attendance and presence at work.
Good interpersonal skills. Demonstrate professionalism; be courteous and friendly to customers and co-workers at all times.
Follow company quality, safety and environmental guidelines as well as employee handbook policies.
Able to effectively perform responsibilities under a high level of stress.
Operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications / Experience/Education:
2+ years truck driving experience. Must be able to operate a manual transmission.
Must have a general knowledge of pumping systems.
Valid CDL class A license with Tanker endorsement required / Hazmat preferred.
Able to pass pre-employment DOT physical, drug screen, Clearinghouse verification and 7-year criminal background check.
