About This Position

Description:

Position Summary:

We are a multi restaurant anchored specialty food store dedicated to providing quality local products and exceptional service to our customers. We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our team and manage the accounting operations of both the grocery operations and the restaurant operations.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Full Charge Bookkeeper with daily bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, invoicing, and reconciliation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Prepare and process internal purchase orders and support the tracking of inventory levels.
  • Organize and file financial documents, receipts, and other records.
  • Prepare financial reports as directed by the Bookkeeper/Accountant.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding financial transactions.
  • Provide general administrative support, including managing emails, scheduling meetings, and maintaining office supplies for the Accounting and Finance Dept.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed to ensure smooth financial operations.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or administrative roles.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a retail or restaurant environment.
  • Knowledge of payroll processes and tax regulations.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Associate degree or certification in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Working Conditions:

  • A typical work week for this position is 40-50 hours. Hours may vary in season.
  • The majority of the day is spent on a computer.
  • Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operates phones, computers, fax machines, copiers, and other office equipment.
