Position Title: Histology Technologist

Position Summary: The Histology Technologist (HT) receives, labels, processes and stains tissues and body fluids. The HT will prepare and maintain all types of equipment used in processing, embedding, and cutting tissue as well as mounting on and labeling slides and blocks. The HT must have computer skills that allow for the documentation and retrieval of histology data. The HT will be responsible for QA and QI activities as required to maintain the highest of standards. The HT assists in all procedures that are required in daily operations of the histology lab to meet all CAP requirements.

Qualifications

Education:

• Histology Technologist through one of two ways required:
  • Associates Degree in Histology or;
  • Board certified as a MLT, MLS or MT and certified as Histology Technologist.

Experience:

• Histology related experience preferred.

Other:

• Flexibility with scheduled work hour required

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• HT or HTL Board Certification preferred.
• ASCP certification strongly preferred.

• Exemplary core customer service skills strongly required.
• Strong organizational skills required.
• Strong PC skills required
