Qualification Note

This role requires previous construction estimating experience, specifically in the area of low-slope (membrane) roofing. Applicants without relevant experience cannot be considered.

Overview

This role is responsible for the estimation of commercial single-ply roofing projects, performing take-offs, preparing estimates, and publishing bids. Ideal candidates will be comfortable with both customer-facing responsibility to understand the scope of the projects and office/estimating responsibilities.

Work encompasses both public and private sector opportunities. Private sector opportunities involve estimating without formal plans and specifications using core samples, pictures, and field measurements. Public sector estimating is generally based on published plans and specifications from architects and construction managers.

General Duties

Participate in weekly team discussion to determine which project opportunities to bid.

Perform customer site visits, perform core cuts, measure roofs and curbs as necessary to support accurate bidding.

Utilize company paid subscriptions to bid boards to identify appropriate public sector opportunities.

Review plans and specifications, work scope, develop detailed, accurate estimates and corresponding proposals.

Support team review of estimates, proposals and bond requirements (if any) prior to publication to customer.

Support post-bid customer dialog and conversation in person and/or virtually as required.

Support creation of job books that provide detail to field crews on the required implementation and procedures.

Support compiling and creation of submittal packages if required by customer.

Position Qualifications

Minimum of three years’ experience in estimating commercial and industrial roofing projects.

Experience with leading roof system manufacturers and their product lines for EPDM, TPO and PVC assemblies including Carlisle SynTec, Elevate (formerly Firestone Building Products), Johns Manville and/or Versico.

Experience with Estimating Edge or other estimating tools.

Effective communication skills for interacting with our customers, internal team, and suppliers.

Strong experience (5+ years) in bidding and estimation of commercial roofing projects.

Base Job Requirements

Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Authorization to work in the United States of America and achievement of high school diploma or equivalent.

Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English and in a respectful and collaborative manner.

Possession of an unrestricted Driver’s License.

Ability and willingness to climb up and down ladders to minimum heights of 25 feet from ground level.

Compensation & Benefits

This role is a salaried position with the company with a salary range of $70,000 - $100,000 depending on experience and is eligible for an annual bonus of up to 10% of base salary based on overall company and individual performance.
