Under the moderate direction of a supervisor, performs general cleaning duties within dormitories, offices and other public facilities areas.Duties and Responsibilities:

• Picks up and disposes of trash, to include the proper handling of recyclable materials.
• Dusts, sweeps, and/or dry mops.
• Cleans glass:
  • All inside areas that can be safely reached.
  • All entrance glass, including doors, inside and out.
• Sanitizes washrooms, showers, and toilet facilities.
• Fills all dispensers in rest rooms.
• Vacuums and cleans carpets and walk-off mats.
• Spot washes marks on walls and woodwork.
• Picks up debris, such as leaves and paper, around entrances and fire exits (including fire escapes), from the steps, and walkways leading to buildings.
• Reports to immediate supervisor or to work control damage and/or malfunction of equipment observed within assigned areas.
• Performs other duties assigned within the normal scope of the department’s responsibilities and the individuals capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications:Ability to follow both verbal and written directions. Ability to interact with customers (students, faculty, administration), co-workers, and supervisors in a positive and helpful manner. Must be able to climb ladders, to bend and reach, and to lift (up to 60 lbs.)

Preferred Qualifications:

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 3 years of experience preferred.

• Must be able to climb ladders, bend and reach, and lift up to 60 lbs.
