About This Position
Under the direct supervision of the Administrative Lieutenant, the Parking Enforcement/Traffic Attendantis responsible for ensuring that parking laws and ordinances are observed throughout the Town of Colonial Beach by conducting enforcement efforts and issuing notices of parking violations to vehicles found in violation of local or state laws. In addition, the Parking Enforcement/Traffic Attendant assists in the safe movement of pedestrian and motor vehicle traffic at school intersections by directing traffic and stopping vehicles as needed to allow children and adults to cross safely.

- Directs traffic and crossing pedestrians by standing in intersections; monitoring traffic conditions; and stopping and starting traffic to allow pedestrians to safely cross

EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED
LICENSESANDCERTIFICATIONS
Valid Virginia driver’s license with the ability to meet and maintain Town insurability requirements
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is normally performed in an outdoor setting. The employee is regularly exposed to environmental factors and potentially dangerous conditions or abuse. Safety vest is required.
SAFETY
The employee shall adhere to Town of Colonial Beach policies regarding safety precautions and the use of safety equipment. If a safety concern arises, the employee must stop any life-threatening activity immediately and in other cases immediately inform the employee’s supervisor.
