Job Overview:

The Assistant Director of Nursing for the Med Surg Unit Day Shift at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset provides clinical and administrative leadership to support the delivery of high quality, patient centered care in alignment with Magnet principles. This role promotes excellence in nursing practice through evidence-based care, shared governance, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a culture of safety. The ADON serves as the primary operational and clinical leader during off-shift hours, ensuring continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.

Required:

• Active RN New Jersey License
• BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
• BSN

Preferred:

• Med Surg experience preferred
• 2-3 years experience preferred
• Prior leadership or charge nurse experience strongly preferred
• Prior leadership or charge nurse experience strongly preferred
• Experience in a Magnet designated or pursuing Magnet organization preferred

Scheduling:

• 36 hours a week - Day shift
• Weekend requirement
