Requirements:Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required, in relevant field.
- Six years of experience in development, donor relations, nonprofits, or related field required.
- Proven track record in closing of individual gifts of $10,000 or more.

Technical Skills
- Experience with donor database software, Raisers Edge preferred.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong project management and research skills.
Additional Requirements
- Hold valid driver’s license with access to safe, reliable transportation to accommodate meetings.
- Occasional evenings and weekends are required to accommodate meetings and special events.
Essential Duties
Donor Engagement and Stewardship (50%)
- Actively solicit and close new major gifts and achieve defined annual revenue goals (initial benchmark FY27: $300,000 annually), with the expectation that goals will grow over time in alignment with portfolio development and program expansion.
- Manage a comprehensive and timely donor acknowledgment plan (calls, notes, emails, etc.).
- Implement strategies to recognize and engage first time, monthly, lapsing and major donors.
- Strengthen the monthly giving program to promote recurring online gifts.
- Success in this role is measured by achievement of annual revenue goals, growth and retention of the assigned donor portfolio, and effectiveness in moving donors through the cultivation and solicitation cycle.
Donor Development (20%)
- Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of donors with direct accountability for revenue generation, donor retention, and gift growth.
- Conduct primary donor research, leading to donor meetings and new or increased giving from donors
- Build and steward relationships with assigned donors and develop relationships with potential donors.
- Solicit cash, sponsorships and/or in-kind donations from individuals and corporate donors.
- Maintain complete and accurate records in Raiser’s Edge, keeping donor notes and actions updated.
Database Administration and Donor Inquiries (10%)
- Maintain current and accurate donor information in Raiser’s Edge.
- Conduct donor research when needed for biographical, demographic, and contact information.
- Develop and run reports and ad-hoc queries from Raiser’s Edge on fundraising activities as needed.
- Track and report on department performance and quality improvement metrics as requested.
Strategy (10%)
- Assist the CAO in developing annual fundraising goals and short- and long-term goals for agency fundraising efforts, leading to strategic growth for the department and the agency.
- Research and implement fundraising best practices to encourage new ideas and keep practices current.
- Implement and maintain effective use of Raiser’s Edge NXT for all fundraisers.
- Develop and implement innovative stewardship activities.
Agency Representation & Advancement Team Duties (10%)
- Stay current in knowledge of agency programs, services and initiatives in order to share compelling stories of agency impact to help match donor intent to agency needs.
- Represent the agency at relevant community events, or check presentations as needed.
- Provide tours for donors, interested community members or volunteers as needed.
- Provide direction and personnel oversight to supervised volunteers or staff members.
- Assist and support the CAO as requested.
Work Environment
- This is an on-site in office position, not remote.
- A majority of the assigned duties are performed in an office environment.

Compensation
- The salary for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. Starting salary is determined based on the candidate's skills and experience, as well as the budget at time of hire. Employees are eligible for annual merit increases through a performance-based review process that considers individual contributions and the organization’s overall budget.
Position Classification & Schedule
- Exempt
- Full Time: 40 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, On-Site
- Occasional evenings and weekends are required to accommodate meetings, and special events.
