GENERAL SUMMARY
The responsibilities of the position require candidates to demonstrate an appreciation for and sensitivity to a diverse academic environment, respecting the varied social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds of students, faculty, and staff. Candidates must be able to clearly and precisely communicate complex methods and procedures to students.
PRIMARY DUTIES
They will evaluate intricate medical and dental histories, authorizing treatments at the CCD dental clinic, and conduct comprehensive patient examinations, providing consultations and referrals as necessary. Additionally, they will authorize dental hygiene treatment plans for new patients and evaluate dental radiographs. The role involves directly supervising the dental hygiene clinic and overseeing the administration of local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation. Candidates will also evaluate students’ interpretations of radiographs and their clinical assessments of dentition and restorations, while ensuring the quality of radiographs exposed by students. Regular communication with department staff, students, and faculty is essential, along with the ability to perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current License to practice Dentistry in the state of Colorado.
Education:(Minimum/Required)
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)
Experience: (required/minimum)
4000 hours within the last 5 years of full time clinical dental hygiene employment or part time equivalent.
Licensure/Certification:

Must hold a current CO DDS license.
Must have a current NPI number.
Must have current Liability Insurance.
Must have current BLS certification.
Experience: (preferred)
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching at the college level and a demonstrated commitment to the mission of PPSC. They should have a proven track record of working collaboratively while also being able to work independently as part of a team. Outstanding written and oral communication skills are essential for effectively conveying information and engaging with students and colleagues alike.Supplemental Information
