Production Assembly Position at SJS Executives LLC – Virginia Beach, Virginia

SJS Industrial is a veteran owned media blasting, industrial painting, powder coating, and light fabrication shop in Virginia Beach, VA, that serves military and maritime customers.

We are currently is seeking a full-time Assembly worker to work Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Each 8-hour shift also includes a 30-minute unpaid meal break and 2 paid 15 mins breaks.

He or she will be willing to learn how to work in a warehouse environment that is fast-paced, learn to handle various types of forklifts to ensure personal safety, will be at ease with working with others within a fast-paced team environment without compromising quality, and will exhibit conscientious workmanship to ensure components meet military and maritime industry acceptance standards. Saturday or evening shifts might happen occasionally if there is a special project with a tight deadline, but the goal is a steady and reliable Monday through Friday 40-hour work week to avoid weekend, night-time, and overtime work.

Responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for the preparation and assembly of tiles with a team.
• Safely operate various small hand tools.
• Safely epoxy and assemble tiles using safe appropriate methods in preparation for being packaged in shipped.
• Must be able to remain on in the upright position and move about on their feet throughout the shift. assemblers will bend, twist, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach at or above shoulder level on frequent occasions.
• Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management
• Follow all written and verbal instructions as well as all technical instructions
• Interpret engineering blueprints and technical terms
• Attend all safety and production training
• Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
• Learn and understand the project traveler documents fundamentals
• Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace
• List up to 25lbs safely.
• Program Plasma Table to cut sheets of steel.
• Use of various machines to lift steel on/off table
• Complete other production-related tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisors, the Production Manager, or the Industrial Director
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Virginia’s State Driver license
• Forklift skills a plus
• Previous Plasma Table/CNC operation a plus
• Must pass drug test and background check
• Must have attention to detail and focus
• Willing and able to wear personal protective equipment necessary for job duties performed
