Job Description
Temporary ESOL Teacher position for English Language Learning Academy (ELLA) Adult Education Program to teach ESOL to students at the beginner level of language proficiency from February 24 to June 27, 2025. 14 instructional hours, 6 in person and 6 hours of prep/admin. In person classes are offered on the Lynn campus, Monday and Wednesday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Prepares lesson materials and plans according to ELLA curriculum and standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Teach 12 hours of ESOL to adult students at the beginner level, including 6 hours of face-to face instruction.
- Adhere to ESOL Professional Standards to deliver effective instruction meeting learners’ needs.
- Maintain communications with students in a culturally sensitive manner and timely address student issues.
- Integrate computer technology into the program curriculum.
- Develop curriculum and instructional materials following student needs and reflecting environmental changes.
- Maintain student attendance records.
- Coordinate volunteer services of the assigned to the class volunteer tutors.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings.
- Maintain students' records in agency reporting tools.
- Facilitate culturally sensitive and inclusive environment conducive to students’ academic, personal, and professional development.
- Fulfill ad-hoc responsibilities according to program needs.
- Work in close collaboration with a team of ESOL instructors, coaches, and advisors.
- Participate in professional development and apply new knowledge and practices.
- Perform work in a classroom and remote home/office environment with the use of computers, phones, and other office equipment.

- Maintain a professional environment conducive to efficient school operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a similar environment.
- Strong working knowledge of educational theory and best practices.
- Good leadership and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite and Google.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and compassionately in a culturally competent manner, with students of a wide variety of backgrounds, skill levels, race, and ethnicity with varying level of English language skills.
