Central Business Systems, Inc. has a career opportunity for an entry-level to mid-level Regional Field Service Technician to provide installation, service, and repair of printers and mailing equipment for our customers. This position deals primarily with printing and mailing equipment with a need for basic IT skills.

A typical day in this position may include any (or all) of the following:

  • Traveling 1-2 hours to a customer site to perform service or installation.
  • Performing mechanical repairs on large printers and/or mailing equipment.
  • Performing equipment installations and user training.
  • Diagnosing and repairing problems with printers or mailing equipment.
  • Completing additional training online or in a classroom to enhance technical ability and support skills.
  • Driving a box truck or minivan to deliver equipment or supplies to customer sites.
  • Working with mailing software (configuring job details, customer training, troubleshooting basic error codes, etc.)

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Service and repair of copiers, printers, and mailing equipment.
  • Delivery and installation of copiers, printers, and mailing equipment.
  • Complete company-provided training as requested to expand skills.
  • Dress and communicate professionally, especially at customer sites.
  • Work individually or with other technicians as needed.

Minimum required skills include, but are not limited to:

  • Good customer relation skills.
  • Ability to travel to areas outside West Virginia as needed (Dependable transportation is a must.)
  • Basic IT and networking skills (Printer driver installs on computers, basic network connectivity, and familiarity with IP addresses. CBS will provide training for specialty software as needed.)
  • Ability to manage trouble tickets efficiently and work with dispatch to coordinate work tasks.
  • Ability to move printer and mailing equipment to and from customer sites using hand carts, 'dollies', and trucks/vans.
  • Ability to read technical service manuals and diagrams.
