About This Position

As Controller you oversee company accounting, reconciliations, and financial statement production. Work directly with CFO and external CPA, financial institutions, insurance agencies. Manage work in process reports, year-end taxes, quarterly reports and oversee project profit/loss tracking. Manage GL issues with AR/AP and all aspects of invoicing and collections. This position is eligible for Remote/Hybrid work.

Main Role & Responsibilities:

• Supports the innovation of the design and building process to identify financial growth opportunities

• Work with accounting team on day-to-day operations, audit transactions related to the general ledger, receivables, payables, job costings and payroll

• Maintain and perform skilled reviews of Work in Progress reporting and revenue recognition

• Extract data from the accounting software to provide detailed and relevant reports

• Prepare and process financial statements with external partners for regulatory reporting, such as the CPA, Banks, and Insurance agencies.

• Oversee and executive month-end close activities in collaboration with Accounting Manager

• Prepare monthly financial statements, including cash flow, ratios and trend analysis

• Manage tax planning, property sales and asset management

• Oversee monthly general ledger entries and account reviews and reconciliations

• Assure compliance and establish internal controls and policies

• Collaborate with the CFO, CEO and COO on company’s financial strategy and planning

• Collaborate with the Design and Build teams on best practices related to accounting functions

• 4 Year Degree in Accounting from an Accredited institution

• 5+ Years of experience in finance management, ideally in construction industry

• Experience leading a staff of accounting professionals

• In-depth knowledge of accounting software (preferably Viewpoint/Vista/Trimble)

• Familiar with construction processes in relation to project set-up, change orders, billing and closeout

• Service oriented; driven to provide excellent service throughout the organization

• Skilled ability to manage tasks and conflicting priorities and deadlines

• Ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly reporting deadlines

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
