DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Cambridge Health Alliance is expanding services to address substance use disorders for its patients and communities. We are opening a low barrier and harm reduction clinic at The Cambridge Hospital to provide treatment for patients who need immediate attention and who could benefit from additional clinical services. This program will be multidisciplinary and interdepartmental, and collaborate with other departments throughout Cambridge Health Alliance and with our community partners in order to meet the needs of our patients with substance use disorders.
Summary:
The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for providing patient care in accordance with established Nursing Standards of Care. The RN demonstrates initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of nursing care and directly reports to a designated nurse manager and/or clinical manager / off shift manager.
Qualifications:
- BSN preferred
- Current or Conditional MA RN Licensure
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) for Healthcare Providers BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required
- Interest or experience in mental health, acute services, and/or substance use disorders preferred
- Portuguese, Spanish, or Haitian Creole-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply
- In addition, newly hired candidates are required to successfully complete a job specific physical agility test
