MISSION:

JOB PURPOSE:
Under limited supervision, provides effective and productive career and technology education programs for students according to their individual needs and designs curriculum in accordance with SC State Standards and vocational curriculum competencies.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establishes appropriate long-range plans by identifying the appropriate instructional, assessment, and management strategies.
Implements instructional activities that contributes to a positive environment where students are actively engaged.
Establishes, clearly communicates, and maintains appropriate expectations for student learning, participation, and responsibility.
Promotes student learning through the effective use of appropriate instructional strategies.
Provides appropriate and extends content for learners and maintains a constant awareness of student performances in order to guide instruction and provide appropriate feedback to students.
Attends required meetings, planning sessions and discussions on time.
Implements work activities in accordance with priorities and estimated schedule.
Adheres to all safety and housekeeping standards established by the district and various regulatory agencies.
Sees that standards are not violated.
Maintains a clean and orderly workplace.
Through strong leadership, advance the mission and vision of the School District and Agency.
Performs related duties as required.
STATE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university. Must be certified within the subject area by SC Department of Education.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of educational program development.
Knowledge of SC state standards.
Ability to conceptualize and implement innovative educational programs.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to work in teams and coordinate programs involving a multi-disciplinary approach.
Limited overnight travel.
This position performs job duties relating to the custody, control, transportation, or recapture of youth within the jurisdiction of the Department of Juvenile Justice, and the employee may have direct and indirect contact with youth within the jurisdiction of the Department of Juvenile Justice. Training applicable to these duties will be provided.
