Position Summary:
We are seeking a Registered CT Technologist (ARRT) to join our imaging team at Beacon Health System in Elkhart, Indiana. This role performs computerized tomography (CT) scans and procedures, requiring independent judgment and precision using high-technology CT equipment. Reports to the Coordinator/Director.

Obtain patient history to ensure proper procedure is performed
-
Select technical factors to optimize image quality
-
Evaluate images for technical quality and make adjustments as necessary
-
Report any malfunctions of equipment to supervisor
-
Clean and maintain CT equipment; perform calibration and warm-up as needed
-
Load and select technical factors for Power Injections
-
Recognize pathology and adjust scanning as necessary
-
Maintain knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
-
Manage schedule and patient flow; follow department protocols
-
Protocol exams with reading Radiologist as needed
-
Explain CT procedures to patients and address questions
-
Identify patients with contrast allergies; pre-medicate according to policy
-
Start IV for contrast media and monitor during Power Injection
-
Report IV infiltrations to EMS HITS
-
Orient and train new CT staff and students
-
Include patients in decisions about their treatment
-
Wear radiation badge and comply with all safety requirements
-
Coordinate patient flow and maintain adequate supplies
-
Verify orders and ensure proper diagnosis is included
-
Complete all steps to ensure images are on PACS and ready to read
-
Enter accurate exam codes for proper charging
-
Familiar with splitting exams, scanning documents, and burning CDs
-
Familiar with Vital/AW workstation functions
-
Attend department meetings; complete mandatory education, competencies, and health requirements
-
Maintain licenses, certifications, and registrations in good standing (ARRT, State X-Ray License, CPR/BCLS)
-
Use universal precautions and ergonomic techniques
-
Follow regulatory agency requirements and internal policies
-
Be available for overtime and additional shifts as required

Associate degree or Professional Training via an accredited Radiography program
-
Required: ARRT Certification, CT registry (within 6 months), State X-Ray License, current CPR/BCLS
-
Preferred: 1–2 years experience as a radiographer; 6 months CT experience

Current registry with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

Current State license
-
Familiarity with CT equipment and cross-sectional anatomy

Limited nursing skills and sterile techniques, including IV administration

Works in hospital and patient care environment
-
Must walk/stand for prolonged periods, push carts/wheelchairs up to 50 lbs, lift patients up to 35 lbs (assistance required above 35 lbs)

Provide CPR as required

Perform all essential functions of the position safely and effectively
