The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

The Surgical Quality Improvement Program Manager is an RN that will oversee the surgical services programs at NBIMC including surgical quality improvement programs spanning both the inpatient and outpatient settings. These programs are framed according to the standards of American College of Surgeons’ (ACS) National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) and other ACS quality standards. This individual works in close collaboration with the Surgery leadership team, and under the direction of the VP of Quality Safety and Experience. The Program Manager will work in tandem with key stakeholders to provide quality review of all cases and to identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in the State of New Jersey. Minimum 2 years hospital nursing experience preferred; 3 years of experience with quality improvement. CPHQ preferred

Job Summary

- Serves as a liaison between the RWJBarnabas Health System, NBIMC and the employees, patients, family members, caregivers and visitors that we serve.

- Assists Quality Leadership in supporting the coordination efforts for our quality programs, high reliability journey, safety behaviors, and patient experience.

- Oversee and manage various surgical quality & safety systems currently in place and utilized on a daily basis

- Supports the development and implementation of a strategic plan for surgical quality improvement initiatives that coincides with the RWJBarnabas mission and vision.

- Oversee the incident reporting system and ensure events are completed in the appropriate turnaround time as needed asper our policies and procedures.

- Work in synergy with all other performance improvement programs and organizational goals, in order to support continuous improvement in all service initiatives.

- Proactively assesses quality and safety surgical performance as it relates to publicly reported metrics and CMS stars (e.g., PSIs, HACs) - Analyze all data available to us from ACS quality programs, Verge Data, EPIC reports, etc. to make the necessary changes in the evolving healthcare industry and adjust to the trends.

- Plans and conducts meetings with department leaders to review trends and strategies to improve quality, safety, and the patient and employee experience. - Seeks feedback and recommendations from others to improve quality, processes and services

- Strategize with personnel at all levels to develop and coordinate surgical quality improvement programs
